1993 Mr. Clinton's first inaugural cost $33 million in private funds, and his 1997 inaugural committee raised $23.7 million. The cost was $36 million.
That's a far cry from the $3.5 million spent on Jimmy Carter's inauguration in 1977.

Last month, the band's hopes for a spot in President Clinton's inauguration parade were dashed after the people of Cody
had spent three months raising $100,000 for the trip.
